Nature’s Alarm Clock…

Alarm Clock

The Kookaburra’s bush anthem rings out, typically at 4:30am every morning, but hey, what would Australia be without them..

I remember learning a song about them as a child, something about a laughing Kookaburra.

I have cats that wake me at 4:30. 🙂

“Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry merry king of the bush is he.
      Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra,
      Gay your life must be!…”

Whilst very much Australian, it is widely known around the world, mostly due to the Girl Guides…

Where you a Girl Guide Lavinia?

That is the Kookaburra song! Yes, I was a Brownie, then a Girl Scout for a few years. I remember singing around the fire on camping trips. 🙂
