   Desert landings can be rough. One of Rick’s friends was killed in a freak accident many years ago when the wing on his glider clipped a Saguaro cactus. It fell across the cockpit, killing him.

   Looks like they all walked away, but all with bak injuries. It seems the pilot’s inexperience with the Cessna 310 was a factor: https://www.atsb.gov.au/publications/investigation_reports/1993/aair/asor_199300002/
