Barcoo River, Outback Australia

Barcoo River, Outback Australia

Late afternoon on the Barcoo River, Welford National Park, Queensland, Australia.

I’ve been looking back over some photographs taken on our four-wheel drive touring trips to the Australian Outback.

The Australian Outback, you’ve got to love it!

Gorgeous! Mind you, the still water and reflection are exquisite.

One of our favourite outback spots. Mind you, we’ve got lots of favourite spots!

It’s beautiful out there, isn’t it. I grew up camping and 4WDing in Outback Qld. When I die, my partner is going to scatter half my ashes out in the channel country around Windorah so that part of me can remain out there. (That’s not meant as a morbid comment)

No, I’m hearing you Andrew. The Channel country and Gulf Savannah is where I’d be happy to lie…

Odd as it might seem, we often search for old graves in the region, usually there is as story behind it that is interesting. I was inspired by Bruce Simpson and his writings of this land…!

      Cheers, Baz
