Australia is a country of diverse landscapes, from golden beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, to mountains that touch the ocean, and outback plains where the red soil kisses a deep blue sky…
We have been fortunate to travel extensively around our country, at times piloting an aircraft over this wondrous land, and other times in one of our four-wheel drive vehicles.
The other day we were reminiscing some of the trips we have had, especially to the Outback, our favourite place to visit.
And where is the Outback, I hear you ask…
Well, you know, outback; back of yonder!
Those who have never visited, come on down and explore our country, to marvel at our beautiful fauna and flora…you won’t be disappointed, and those who have come and gone, return soon, we miss you.
Enjoy the photos of our travels, mostly taken by Janet and TomO…
And am I just a little bit biased about this great country, our island continent, The Great Southern Land?
I believe that this Great Land that we live on represents the best of us.

I really don’t appreciate the gloating about your beautiful vistas! I have no “big” vacation slated for anytime in the near future and yet I’ve got a terrible urge to pack up and come visit. It’s not nice, I tell you! 😉

Weather is warm and balmy; the beer is cold; the people are crazy (in a nice way), an endless supply of vegemite…and beautiful vistas!
You’d love it… 🙂

Yes, they both seem to have the talent for it, especially TomO, he seems to be able to frame a great shot…

It is a beautiful country isn’t it. I love the Outback most of all. It’s a magical place. I was fortunate to grow up traveling the country with my family during school holidays, especially Outback Queensland. Sometimes I enter events as an excuse to see this country (I went all the way to Julia Creek for a triathlon earlier this year)

Oh wow. So she’s a country girl. I’m totally in love with the country out past Windorah. The channel country grabbed hold of my heart when I was a young thing and I have asked my partner to scatter half my ashes out there after I depart the land of the living. The other half I want scattered here in Southern Moreton Bay – the other homeland of my heart.
A decade ago I cycled from Birdsville to Brisbane just because the road was there. It was the most magical experience of my life. Other than the 9 weeks I spent riding my motorbike through the southern states (including Tassie) in the Summer of 2009/10.

Stunning photos. I’m hoping to get to Australia one day. My parents were over there last month. They went to visit a friend in Townsville and then stayed with my dad’s long-lost family.

I am totally in love with your country. I’ve only been there once for about two weeks and it just wasn’t enough time to explore. But once I get rolling in the dough I’m booking my seat on Qantas again … It may be a while … I’m a writer 🙂 Great pictures and nice post. Thanks for bringing a little bit of your country my way 🙂
