Strewth Mate, you gotta love Tough Mudder

Sydney had its first Tough Mudder event today, and geez how good is it! I lined up with my brother-in-law, and usual partner in crime, Ray Tong, and man did we have a good time of it.

We laughed our way through it…

Mind you, my sister, who turned up yesterday to look after the dogs while we are in Fiji, snapped this shot at the start line.

It kinda has that look about it that suggests I was saying what the (insert naughty words) are we doing here!

It was run just to the north of Sydney on a rural property, and crikey, I don’t know where they found all that mud, but let me tell you, there was lot’s of it over the 20 kilometre obstacle course…

Anyway, I’ll leave you with a couple of photos of the event, ’cause I’m heading for the showers, you know, to clean myself up…

P.S. Note to self, suggest to Janet that I’ve found the perfect beauty treatment that only costs about a hundred bucks. The last time I saw the bill for the day spa, and mud pack, it cost a multiple of this…

Well done, enjoyed your post and think after completing TM you are well on your way to being ready for Cho Oyu. My husband and friends also took part on the saturday and I take my hat off to all of you as I wouldn’t even dare ! I did enjoy spectating and snapping some photos ( some on my blog if you want to have a peak)
Congrats again and I look forward to seeing what you tackle next !

Congrats. Sounds like a great race. We have one like that out here in California. It’s called the Warrior Dash … Mud Sweat and Beer. It was lots of fun. Had a blast doing it, so I know you had a great time too.

Looks like some rough fun you had out there from the pics. Your mud race mention had me checking out some of the mud races available and the Spartan race caught my attention…you can check that out too.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdlLowc6HTk

I’m curious about the fire obstacles and the ones that zap you. Are they scary? We have a mini version of the tough mudder happening near the end of the month here. I don’t think they have fire or electric shock obstacles though!

The fire was fairly benign, hales bales either side of a track that you run between. The zaps weren’t too bad, but you fel it…go for sure…Baz

I am jealous ! I had to choose between Tough Mudder and running sooner so took running sooner. Looks like TM was great! (Though my day in Sydney was pretty perfect too)

You know, Baz, “Tough” isn’t the first adjective that leaps to mind when I look at those pictures 🙂 The first Tough Mudder event was held in BC in June, up in Whistler. It looked like a truly crazy ordeal!

Looks like you guys had fun Baz!! Now I must dig out our Warrier Dash pics from last year. We were soooo muddy! Brett loved it and let’s just say I was less than thrilled! When we came out of the mud pit at the finish line and they put the medal around our necks, I pretty much had a scowl of disgust on my face! I hate being dirty!!! Hahaha!
