Can you believe that 2013 has rolled around already? And how good were those fireworks on Sydney Harbour to see in the New Year!

Anyway, I know I’ve been shouting it very loudly at every opportunity of late, but just in case you’ve missed it, 2013 will be a big year for me in terms of mountaineering and climbing, and it starts at the end of this week as I head to New Zealand’s Southern Alps…

Southern Alps, New Zealand

Southern Alps, New Zealand

Janet, TomO, and I were just looking at some of the climbing and mountaineering photos from 2012 so I thought I’d put up some favourites (again)…it motivates me to get out there…

Crikey, almost forgot…Happy New Year to all from dowunder!

And remember, if all else fails, remain out of control and see what develops…!

About Baz - The Landy

I'm on a journey to climb one or more of the world's 8,000 metre mountain peaks, and if all goes well an attempt on the summit of Mt Everest. One of the things I like to remind myself of each and every day, is there are no ordinary moments; no ordinary people; no ordinary lives...

Happy New Year downunder. I’m still back here in 2012, just gearing up for our own celebrations on the West Coast. I’m very excited for you with only a few days to go for your challenge. Mine starts in five hours- a more modest one but exciting nonetheless for me (2013 km and $2013.00 for charity in 2013). Healthy Happy New year to you and yours. Jo from Canada.

Thanks Jo, and good luck with your challenge! I’ll be following it with great interest, and hey, nothing modest about what you are wanting to achieve, and it sounds exciting! Cheers!

Happy New Year. I can’t wait to see the photos and read the stories of your climbing adventures. Reading your blog is inspiring to me because it reminds me not to limit myself :) . I’m hoping to move house in 2013. We will move into the city with it’s river for kayaking and cliffs for climbing. I have even been looking into joining my old university rock climbing club again (anyone can join – you don’t have to be a student).

Hey Baz…I awarded you too. Not sure that you have much time for all these awards right now (nor do I know how many followers you have for the Leibster to be appropriate) but none the less, at the very least a link to your blog has been shared.
